Personal Learning Network (PLN)

As a beginning teacher, it is important for me to understand that the opportunity for personal growth is boundless. Through the development and analysis of my PLN, I was able to identify new opportunities for growth. In order to further develop and enhance my professional practice, I will be looking to actively engage in social media. More specifically, Twitter has been a rising platform for influential leaders and educational experts to share their works. Therefore, it is important for me to follow these experts to increase my opportunities for online collaboration and the sharing of knowledge. Currently, my PLN consists of a range of different areas for continued personal and professional learning. This is consistent with my teaching philosophy where I outline my role as the teacher (see teaching philosophy). 

Finally, the PLN is described by Searles (2013) as an important tool to help educators model to students how to be lifelong learners. She also mentions that we work in an industry that is ever-changing and will continue to change. Hence, the PLN is a highly adaptable tool that will continue to evolve throughout my career.
